Post & Telecommunications
Post Offices and the red-colored mail boxes are identified as KP&TC.
Stamps can be bought from the hotel, bookshops and souvenir shops, or the Post Office. 
Post Offices operate from
8 am. to 13 pm. and 14.00 pm  to 17.00 pm week and
8 am. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
Hotel services provide telephone, fax and telex facilities at an extra cost. Hotels are always charging min. 3 min! 
It is cheaper to use public telephone booths by using phonecards or calling at the postoffice.

Clothing
There are no specific conditions for personal attire. In dining rooms most hotels request respectable appearance.

Security
Like traveling anywhere in the world, one must ensure personal safety. Dont take to much money, your travel documents and other valuables with you for a walk Arusha.. Be aware of conmen, dont trust any story within a plaid for money! it is always safe to remain in groups and never walk alone in isolated areas or on beaches !

Banks
Most hotels and airports have a Bureau de Change for converting international currencies and travelers cheques to local and liquid cash. it is better to change at the banks.
Banks in Arusha and Dar es Salaam  operate
from 9 am. to 3 pm.

You can get also cash from the ATM or at the counter with your credit card.

Currency
Tanzania  local currency is the Shilling and is made up of coins for smaller units and notes for larger denominations.

Credit Cards
Most international credit cards and travelers cheques are recognized and accepted in most places in Tanzania.

Hotel Bill payments
In most hotels visitors to Tanzania are expected to pay in usd cash or credit cards are also mostly accepted.  For small bills payment in Tanzanian Shillings is also accepted. 

Tipping
Tipping is not a must but it is not forbidden in Tanzania It is totally at your discretion although some hotels include service charge to the bill.For your driver of the safari: it depends certainly if you had a good safari but about 5 usd per day is recommended.

Water
Lodges and hotels in major towns have safe water drinking. Bottled mineral water is also available in most places..
We advise you to drink ONLY bottled Mineral water ! All hotels provide safe drinking water but bottled water must be carried especially for drinking during safari.

Electricity
Electricity is available in all the major towns and lodges within the country.The standard voltage is 220V AC and a three-pin plug is commonly used.
