Johnson,
came to us when we were still living in Thika. The
headmaster of the school asked us for assistance. Johnson
slept in a toillet of his neighbours. The mother died some
years ago and the father was drinking. His father died last
year. He is now an orphan. With 15 years a teenager with the
usual problems. He is far behind in school and gets extra
lessons. Johnson is 18 years.
 Max
well. brought to us when we were still living in Thika, by the child
officer. Maxwell was covered with scarfs and open wounds. Beated by his
father with iron cables. Maxwell enjoyed to be in the home from the
first moment. He is however sometimes hard to handle. He likes the
volunteer ladies a lot and gives them all the feeling they are special
to him.... he writes many of them letters! Maxwell want to become a
soldier! he is now 12 years.
 Salome
is 131 years. A beautiful girl from Kisumu where she lived
with her grandparents. They were to old to take about her
and that is why came to us with her brother Mourice. Salomé
is a very nice girl, she likes to help a lot in the home and
is doing fine at the school. She can befriend some
volunteers with her whole heart.
She loves to share some
evenings with 'ladies "together. Some volunteers know where
I talk about...
Seline is
10 years old. She was given away by her Grandmother who had
to many children to take care about. Seline has a hand and
foot who dont function well. She has epileptic and has
sometimes many attacks in a day. She will be on medications
soon. She can be very agressive and beat the small children.
I suspect that she is has been a victim of torture cause she
is covered with many scarfs and is very sensitive for noises
which really can make her totally frigthen. In Lioness Cubs
home she has found a warm home with love and personal
attention. it is so encouraging if you see her enjoying or
hearing her singing.
