August 2008

The children are very happy in the new home in Kikambala. However we will do our level best now to do some fundraising to built our own orphanage. This house is not really big enough but the children are comfortable. Most of the time they play outside at the big compound. It is a temporary home till we have the funds to built a bigger and more comfortable orphanage for these children and some more...We have a beautiful plot which is big enough to built an big orphanage.

Dennis runned into another boy at the school compound an got nasty eye injury caused by the other boy's teeth. He was taken to the hospital by the headmaster of the school. The cut was stitched in the hospital which was a mistake. You suppose never to stitch a cut of an animal or human being at such a sensitive place. Dennis eye got swollen up badly and one day when we visited the home we found Dennis in bed. We immediately took him to the AAR where the stitches were removed and the wound treated for some days. He fully recovered and is now doing very fine.

 Announcement:

I Irene Okech - Haneveld founder of the orphanage and William Okech director, feel it that it is our duty to inform you that Joseph the manager of the orphanage,  is no  longer working with us. Joseph who started working with us from November 2007 as the manager was released from 16th August. He is no longer authorized to communicate or act on behalf of the Lioness Cubs and therefore we are not responsible for any transactions/ communication with Joseph. If you  need any more information please email us as we are not allowed to publish the reasons of his termination on this site but would not feel happy when this person has approached you on our behalf. Our staff members are never allowed to ask for funds or money from our visitors.

We also kindly request you if you have received an email from Joseph to verify with us if the information he wrote is true.

We do regret the happenings recently which affected the good name of the orphanage and our personal life badly due to the actions of people trying to spoil our name to benefit themselves. However we are happy that we are again on the right track and move on in a even better way.
