Throughout the year in the whole country.
Little risk in city of Nairobi and highlands (above 2500m) of Central, Rift
Valley, Eastern, Nyanza and Western provinces.
3. Other arthropod borne
diseases
Human trypanosomiasis in some
isolated rural foci.
Viral haemorrhagic fevers transmitted by mosquito / tick / sand fly bites.
Schistosomiasis occurs.
4. Food & water borne
diseases.
Diarrhoea disease, dysentery,
typhoid fever, hepatitis A and E widespread.
Cholera, Hydatid disease & Dracuunculiasis have been reported.
5. Other diseases.
Outbreaks of meningococcal
meningitis especially savanna areas during dry season
Hepatitis B is hyperendemic.
Polio is endemic and Trachoma widespread.
Rabies
HIV and AIDS very prevalent.
